In Taiwan, the curator of museums had have consciousness on museum’s social responsibilities and providing many policies to improve the concept of cultural equality. However, we encountered difficulties on setting the target and finding ways to achieve it. The current studies of disability in sociology provide us a discipline to define the quality of these policies under the discourse of the Movement of Disability Rights. Museum communities embraced the “Rights Model” to set up their policies in servicing their customer, including Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology. The main purposes of this thesis included three points: first, explore how did the Autism-Friendly Policy of Shihsanhang Museum been constructed, and exam it based on right model. Second, we concluded the current policies of the museums’ Autism-Friendly Policy to find out how it had been practice in Taiwan. Third, we wanted to understand the influences of Autism-Friendly Policy both on the autism community and the faculties of Shihsanhang Museum. This study began on three representative cases including National Museum of Taiwan History, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei. Through arts therapy, museum’s reformation, and curating, we showed how museums practiced ASD-Friendly policy. Then, from “specialize services”, “museum’s reformation” and “community collaboration” perspectives we find out some difficulties on policy making and practice of ASD-Friendly policy. On the case study, this thesis tried to react with the disability studies, which take Rights Model as mainstream and criticize the concept of Medical Model and Social Model. In the end, we expand the field of disability study to Museology in order to know how it practiced in the field of museums.
