The topic of this study involves the discourse on artistic creation under the theme of “dynamic visual effect” proposed by the author while studying in a graduate program. Instead of focusing on the objects depicted in creations or the rendering of genres, this study focuses on style representation and the visual sensations afforded by components in paintings, as well as viewers’ perception of the visual dynamics behind such art works. By considering the in-between construction of dynamic and static concepts, the author discovers the explicit and implicit creative signs outside of media rendering. The structure of this study comprises five sections.First, the Introduction, which explains how art works are conceptualized initially. The second section discusses the theoretical basis of artistic creation, in which visual psychology and principles of formation are introduced to illustrate the “explicitly” in visual renditions. Furthermore, the “dynamic” philosophies in both Chinese and Western cultures are connected with the connotations and implications of “implicity.” Then, the explicit and implicit elements are connected with creative conceptions. In the third section, conception and representation of the creations are presented. To expound on the author’s conception and ideas regarding artistic creation, the author presents compiled records of the forms of creations, and the materials and techniques. The fourth section provides detailed analysis of a series of 21 representative works on their artistic undertones, forms, and contexts. Finally, conclusion is provided in the fifth section; following a thorough organization of the creation process, the author reviews and reflects on the whole process to propose recommendations for future creations.
