A Study on the Relationships among the Principals' Space Leadership, School Organizational Culture and Effectiveness of School Innovation Management in Elementary Schools in Taipei City

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of the principals’ space leadership, school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management in elementary schools in Taipei City, aiming at the principals’ space leadership, school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management, their current situation, differences and correlations, furthermore, verifying the established structural equation modeling (SEM) among them. The first step of this study was to gather and investigate domestic and foreign relevant literature as a theoretical basis for designing a questionnaire. This study recruited public elementary school educators in Taipei City as the participant. By using SPSS and AMOS, the data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one factor analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation analysis, and SEM. According to the results of the study, the conclusions were as follows: 1.The educators of elementary schools interacted well about the principals’ space leadership, school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management in elementary schools in Taipei City. Promoting community interaction, establishing systems and norms, curriculum innovation and administrative management innovation are the future efforts. 2.The educators’ perception of the principals’ space leadership, does cause significant differences by different gender. The campus contextual aesthetics and digital technology system upgrades will be implemented. 3.The educators’ perception of the principals’ space leadership and school organizational culture, does cause significant differences by different service period. Invite senior teachers to participate in school planning and provide experience, and make school decision-making, which can help school development. 4.The educators’ perception of the principals’ space leadership, does cause significant differences by different position. Through the participation of all employees, the effectiveness and value of collective wisdom is an important task for schools to promote innovative management. 5.The educators’ perception of the principals’ space leadership, school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management, does cause significant differences by different school scale. The professional resources of the school and the promotion of innovative action are the advantages of the school's innovative management. 6.The educators’ perception of school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management, does cause significant differences by different school age. Encouraging the morale and innovation consciousness of century-old schools is the key to the school's initiation of innovation. 7.The principals’ space leadership, school organizational culture and effectiveness of school innovation management achieved a moderate positive correlation with each other and establish a good foundation for the school's sustainable management. 8.Structural equation modeling (SEM) of this study obtained the great support; besides, school organizational culture has the effects of mediator. Through school organizational culture, we can exert the educational effect of the principals' space leadership and improve effectiveness of school innovation management. Based on the conclusions of the present study, the related suggestions were offered to education authorities, school educators for further reference and future research.
