Implementation of IoT Smart Monitoring and Control System on Firebase

This paper uses Google’s Firebase as the network layer of the IoT to receive data and to act as server. Then, the sensing layer uses Arduino system to connect the sensing components to detect the temperature, humidity, and sound level of house interior, as well as to control the lighting. Link to server is achieved through Wi-Fi connection. Therefore, this system can be applied to remote monitoring and control of any environment. When building this system, the program for acquiring data from the sensing hardware devices and transferring data to server is developed in the Arduino IDE. Interface web page is created using Visual Studio and Bootstrap templates. This web page is then deployed to Firebase for monitoring and controlling a remote environment. Finally, this system is applied to an indoor environment as smart home monitoring and control system. This method in this research can quickly construct a smart cloud system to indoor environment monitoring, making IoT more accessible.
