The story of the General Yang Family (Yang-Clan Warriors) has been widely spread among the people since the Northern Song Dynasty. From the scholars to the old, the weak, the women and the soldiers are well-known. People admire the General Yang Family. Therefore, local operas produce a large number of related repertoires. In the General Yang Family, not only the men are courageous, the women are also very brave. The Yang’s third-generation, Yang Zong-bao’s wife, Mu Gui-ying, is a martial artist with a strong and straightforward personality. She is very brave in pursuing love and is a representative woman figure of the Yang’s family. Mu Gui-ying presents a rare and special female image in Chinese history and drama. Since the Qing Dynasty, there have been many operas featuring Mu Gui-ying. Since the film and television have been invented in 20th century, the interest in this legendary heroine has not been reduced. Many film and television producers are scrambling to shoot the film featuring Mu Gui-ying, and from time to time introduce new ideas to interpret the legend. This thesis will present the role of Mu Gui-ying, which has appeared in films and TV series over the years, analyze and compare them, and find out the uniqueness of the role of Mu Gui-ying in different series and the female consciousness behind it. After an analysis, the author thinks that the TV series “Mu Gui-ying Takes Command” in 2012 used new content in old form. In a relaxed and humorous way, the woman of the cottage, Mu Gui-ying, robbed the man she wanted to marry to, and after many obstacles, she successfully married the man, “the second generation of the political family”, and then later on gained the respect and recognition of the family, and takes command of the army. This kind of light comedy style is also different from the other Mu Gui-ying related operas that were taken in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It is a quite special and successful example about the creation of image of Mu Gui-ying in the modern films and TV series.
