The Construction and Verification of Elementary School Teachers' Care Indicators－Based on Noddings' Ethics of Care

| Popis: | 106 The purpose of this research is to explore the contents of the elementary school teachers’ caring. The research results are found by developing the elementary school teachers' care scales, constructing the elementary school teachers' care indicators, and exploring the indicator differences of the elementary school teachers with different background variables. The results will be the reference for educational departments or in-service teachers. Based on the six topics of Noddings’ care ethics in curriculum design and the related research, the first draft of indicators is developed. With the expert validity test, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, elementary school teachers’ care indicators are constructed. Then the indicators are investigated empirically. The conclusions of this study are as the followings: (1)The contents of the care of elementary school teachers includes six Indicators, which are” Caring for self," "Caring for others," "Caring for distant others," "Caring for the environment," "Caring for the human-made world" and "Caring for Ideas." (2)The scales of elementary school teachers’ care have very considerable reliability and validity. (3)The various care indicators of elementary school teachers vary due to different academic degrees, years of service and school size.
