Research on the Development and Innovation Strategy of Taiwan Electronic Payment Platform—Comparison with Alipay

| Popis: | 106 In recent years, there has been a strong trend of economic globalization. A lot of e-commerce companies continuously expanded the scale of cross-border e-commerce. The third-party payment has also changed from an initial payment channel to an independent third-party payment platform. As the third-party payments were highly developed in all of the world, Taiwan just passed the“Regulations of Electronic Payment Institutions”in 2015, and the companies such as O’pay and Gamapay operated later at the end of 2016. Although the law restricted Chinese-funded institutions investing to protect electronic payment industry in Taiwan, the third-party payment companies in China have built their business and financial system antecedent to serve those outbound visitors from mainland China to Taiwan. In view of these facts, the electronic payment industry in Taiwan was under tremendous pressure in initial stage. There were important that the industry operated by an appropriate manner and proposed an innovative development model. This paper first reviewed the current development status of the industry relative to inbound rivals in Taiwan, and used the “Macro 4 Plus 6” method (AMP) to analyze the key development factors and construct their platform development model, when confronted with Alipay which has long since been a leading position in the third-party payment industry in China. Finally, we proposed a feasible strategy conducive to finance-mediated service, and provided advice to the government and related organizations. |
