ROC's Defense Industries and National Security：A Case Study of Domestic Production on Indigenous Aerial Plane

| Popis: | 106 Since the Indigenous Defense Fighter(IDF) program was finished, our do-mestic production has been at a standstill for 30 years. This also causes the avia-tion industries stagnated and the aeronautic technicians running off. In order to maintain national security, international conditions, boosting the domestic economy, stimulating industrial upgrading, and nurturing talents, President Tsai Ing-wen pushed for the “Homemade warplanes” Self-reliant defense and started the Homemade Air Force Advanced trainer program. In this research, the literature analysis research method was conducted to analyze the concept of national security, the precipitous Cross-strait situation, the national defense dependency on the United States, and to review the policy of warplanes homemade and its acquisition. The T-5 advanced trainer homemade case was also examined by SWOT analysis. The study argues that, the self-reliant defense by domestic production on Indigenous Aerial Plane has the strategic significance of promoting ROC’s aer-ospace industries and developing of the next generation fighter. It can also achieve a national strategic goal from the political, economic, psychological,and military, perspectives to ensure Taiwan’s state’s security. |
