The effect of ambidextrous leadership on innovation and standardization: Moderating roles of work engagement and rationality.

This study is aimed at how ambidextrous leadership affect innovation and standardization with engagement and rationality. In response to the advent of the current industry 4.0, the machine tool industry should continue to increase the quality, yield, and efficiency, and at the same time, it must pay attention to and cultivate innovative behavior of their employees. This study selected 22 companies from TMBA (Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association). Each company took 15-20 employees and collected a total of 259 valid questionnaires. Statistical methods were adopted to test the hypothesis including confirmatory factor analysis and structure equation modeling. According to the result, the major implications of the study included:(1) The relationship between ambdextrous1eadership and innovation is mediated by engagement. (2) The relationship between ambidextrous 1eadership and standardization is mediated by rationality. Finally, this study discusses the conclusions of the research and proposes management implications and directions for future research.
