Popis: | 106 Water is essential for human civilization. Despite of abundant rainfall, Taiwan lacks usable water resource because of its geometry and weather characteristics. The environmental damages caused by recent economic development and over exploitation make good quality water resources for civilian use even scarcer. For monitoring and guaranteeing water resource quality, many recent researches use the behavior and survive ratio of indigenous species at water resource for the indicator of water quality and pollution. This study uses three species of common artificially cultivated fishes as monitoring subjects. Carassiusauratus is the top-level species; Gambusiaaffinis is the mid-low level species;Corydorasaeneusvar is the bottom level species. We use the monitoring aquarium and experimental procedure from “Protocols of fish-cultivating monitoring of water toxic pollution”, Taiwan Water Corporation, for our experimental setting. Last, we compare and analyze the responses to toxic substances of different fish species, so we can recommend fishes suitable for water toxic pollution monitoring to the water corporation and establish warning indicators for pollution monitoring. |
