Popis: | 106 Because of the short-flowing rivers in Taiwan, water resources are not easy to conserve which results infrequent floods and/or droughts. The construction of reservoirs has become the key to water resource allocation. In addition to power generation, water storage, irrigation, industrial and public water supply, the reservoir function can also play a role in the flood control during the flood period to have the benefits of reducing downstream floods. However, the watershed landslides result from rainfall and earthquakes can easily reduce the function of conservation. Wushe Reservoir is one of the serious siltation of reservoirs in Taiwan. The measured sediment yield of the reservoir was approximately 106.34 million cubic meters (a total deposition rate of approximately 71%) in November 2016. Hence, how to effectively estimate sediment yield of a reservoir watershed is crucial for adopting strategies to reduce reservoir sedimentation. Wushe Reservoir watershed was taken as study area in this study. Sediment yield of the reservoir was estimated using digital elevation model coupled with multi-period satellite images, and verified by the regression analysis with the measured sediment yield. Because of the severe siltation of the reservoir caused by landslide, the sediment yield not only included soil losses but landslides. The sediment yield estimated from WinGrid and/or InVEST model would be compared and verified with the measured data to modify the models for suitable sediment yield estimation. Sediment yield of the reservoir shows that there is a significant positive correlation between WinGrid estimation and the measured data (R2=0.83). Since difficulty in quantizing the different phase of sediment yield using sediment delivery ratio (SDR), a completely delivery (SDR=1)is recommended. However, the sediment delivery ratio should be adjusted with the scale of landslides for precise estimation. |
