A Study on the Relationship between the Principal's Space Leadership and the Administrative Staff's Organizational Commitment of Elementary Schools in Taichung City

| Popis: | 106 The purpose of this study is to learn the relationships between the principal space leadership and the administrative staff’s organizational commitment in elementary school of Taichung City. To investigate the perceptions of elementary school administrative staff on the correlations between the two variables mentioned above. To achieve the goal above, the study adopted questionnaire survey, data were collected from 112 elementary schools, and we retrieved 572 from 704 questionnaires. The response rate of the questionnaire was 81% with the usable rate 90.2% from 514 useable ones. All data were analyzed by the methods of descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and SEM. According to the results, this study reached the following conclusions: 1.The level of space leadership of principals in Taichung City is high and the performance in “Setting up the space vision”. 2.The level of organizational commitment of school administrative staff in elementary school is high, and the “Hard-working attitude” is outstanding. 3.Highest level of education, current position and school size of administrative staffs’ show difference on the principal space leadership. 4.Age, current position, total seniorities and administrative seniorities will affect staffs attitude toward organizational commitment. 5.The office which administrative staff works will not affect their attitude toward the principal space leadership. 6.There were positive relationships between principal space leadership and organizational commitment. 7.The proper fit of structural equation model between principal’s space leadership and organizational commitment is assessed as positive and could explain the relationship between main variables. Therefore, the principal’s space leadership could positively affect organizational commitment The suggestions were based on the conclusions of the study, and the relevant suggestions were proposed for the educational administration institutions, elementary school principals and future research. |
