Study on Application of Robotics in Primary School STEAM Teaching Design

I In the face of global competition and economic pressure, various AI products are constantly innovating and replacing the work of human beings. In order to have correct strides in future’s education, countries all over the world introduce new policies one after another. Taiwan as well hopes to make a great leap forward in this trend of era. Action Research Methods was applied in this research. A total of 84 elementary school students were selected from New Taipei City in carrying out the application of robots in STEAM instructional design course. The syllabus consisted of five modules covering science, technology, engineering, mathematics and art. Classroom activities, students’ worksheets and teaching log had been collected for both Quantitative Content Analysis and Sequence Analysis. The main conclusions and findings of this study are as follows: 1. The application of robots in primary school STEAM instructional design was very popular among students. 2. The application of robots in primary school STEAM instructional design significantly improved students’ creativity and communication skills. 3. The integration of professional interdisciplinary in the applying robots in primary school STEAM instructional design enhanced students' ability of solving problems. 4. Apply robots to STEAM instructional design reinforced teachers' professional competence.
