Factors for Marital Satisfaction of Retired Public Primary and Secondary School Teachers

| Popis: | 106 The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that impact the marital satisfaction of retired teachers in public high schools and elementary schools. Surveys were conducted with purposive sampling method using Google Forms. The results of this study show that among retired teachers of public high schools and elementary schools, the marital satisfaction of males is higher than that of the females. The Age, religion, residence status, and health condition have significant differences in impacting the marital satisfaction of retired teachers. According to this study, the older a retired female teacher was, the lower her marriage satisfaction would be, whereas this phenomenon was not significant among the retired male teachers. When the couples shared the same religious beliefs, the marital satisfaction was higher. Retired teachers who lived only with their spouses had the highest marital satisfaction, and the ones who lived only with their children had the lowest marital satisfaction. The better the health condition was, the higher the marital satisfaction would be. Therefore, it can be concluded that teachers who are about to retire should try to have the same religious beliefs as their spouses, live with their spouses, and maintain good health condition. It is hoped that the results of this study will provide the teachers who are about to retire a blueprint for planning their retirement lives in advance, so that they will enjoy happy and satisfying marriages after their retirement.
