Past studies have shown that savoring and subjective wellbeing produce positive effects. The main purpose of this study is to explore the relationships among savoring, creative transformation and subjective well-being and further investigate the mediating role of creative transformation in savoring and subjective well-being. Creative transformation is divided into “from theory learning to practical applications” and “from practical applications to work production”. This study adopted 686 junior high school teachers as research participants. The questionnaire survey method was adopted, with subjective well-being, creative transformation, and savoring as the scales. For the data analysis part, descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and regression analysis mediation were used. Research results show that the teachers’ “taste beliefs level” produced a positive impact on subjective well-being. That is, the higher the teachers’ taste beliefs, the higher their subjective well-being. The two variables in creative transformation and taste and subjective well-being reached significant correlation. Secondly, results also show that “from practical applications to work production” in creative transformation produced complete a mediating effect on “total score on subjective well-being”; “from theory learning to practical applications” in theory learning produced a partial mediating effect on “total score on subjective well-being”; “from theory learning to practical applications” in creative transformation and “from practical applications to work production” in savoring beliefs produced the expected savoring; both current savoring and remembered savoring produced a mediating effect on subjective well-being. Finally, based on the aforementioned findings and targeting education practice and future research, recommendations were proposed to serve as a reference.
