In-Vehicle Infotainment System is a system that integrates entertainment and message transmission into the driver and passengers in a vehicle. It originates from the sound and navigation system, and evolves into the integration of hardware and software inside the car. Joined by networks and mobile devices, it provides information for the driver and helps to control the vehicle. Before the advancement of semiconductor manufacturing, software, navigation and communication systems were invented and installed around the driver's position individually. The booming Service industry brought up consumer awareness in the last decades. In this stream intelligent In-Vehicle Infotainment System was becoming popular gradually. Since the microcomputer was invented, In-Vehicle Infotainment System is developed to various functions successively. In consider to safe driving, the challenge to integrate them to one efficient system is confronted. Autonomous driving system is now in the testing stage. Nevertheless, in the foreseeable future, cars are driverless. The Internet of Things will also make car-sharing possible. In consensus, automation is graded in six levels which are from level 0, no automation, to level 5, full automation. The significant step is from level 4 to 5 which the steering wheel for driver will be removed from the car. How can the full automation system be trusted by passengers completely? One of the devices which passengers can communicate with the vehicle is the inevitable In-vehicle Infotainment System, connecting the timing of passengers getting on and off the car and providing services of driving information and entertainment interactions, and without drivers the design will only focus on passengers. Considering new technologies in parallel to humanity, this research focused on the prime requests of users to the In-Vehicle Infotainment System. This thesis is started in analyzing the development of the in-vehicle infotainment system and the progress of Autonomous car development. Moreover, applying industrial design perspectives to conclude, speculate and propose new vision for the In-Vehicle Infotainment System of full Automation cars. In consider to new requirements, three proposals were recommended and presented.
