The purpose of this study is to understand the stress, coping strategies and sports performance of the Taichung municipal elementary school student-athletes by investigating the relationship between the variables. Subjects are evaluated by the inventory edited from researcher. Clusters are stratified sampling. There are 500 questionnaires; 488 questionnaires are valid; effective response rate is 97.6%. The data obtained from the inventories are analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson product-moment correlation. The findings are shown as follows: 1.The perception of stress for the subjects is low. The aspect of "sports injury" ranks the highest. 2.Stress of boy student athletes is heavier than girl student athletes. 3.Student athletes who won the competitions feel heavier stress on "sports injuries", "coaching relationships", "family support" and "overall levels" than others. 4.Student-athletes use the "problem solving" approach more often. 5.Physical class student-athletes use the "emotional adjustment" when they face with stree more often than non-physical class student-athletes. 6.Stress and coping strategies of student-athletes are related to percepion sports performance. Based on the findings of this study, the researcher makes some suggestions for coaches, teachers and future studies.
