| Popis: | 105 This study uses negative heritage as discourse in introducing Zhoan Hakka’s value of“doing merit” funeral rite, so as to re-examine its cultural value. The study found that such negative intangible heritages have the following characteristics: 1.Medium of authentic intangibles. Such intangible cultural assets are bound to include ritual, techniques and folk activities as their mediums which carry cultural values. 2.Reproduction of sadness. Such cultural assets usually deals with death, taboos, sad or other negative experiences or memories. When the medium is reproduced, its original cultural memories would also be brought out. 3.Transformation of memory and identity. With along with the occurrence of events and the reproduction of memory, as well as the change of time and social conditions, the original cultural identity transforms and evolves. 4.Education of negative memory and positive identity. The reproduction of traumatic memory and sadness is not to provoke the problem, but to remind the future and future generations of positive educational values, making negative heritage the best material for life, history and civic education. In the construction of cultural memory, Zhaoan Hakka’s “doing merit” can be considered as a unique and rare cultural heritage. And such heritages are in urgent need for experts, scholars and cultural heritage related offices to examine and conserve negative intangible heritages. |
