Popis: | 105 In university, the author followed Teacher Tan, Jin-Jia and learned calligraphy from him. In the process of learning, knowing that Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai, the head of the four great calligraphers in early Republic of China, had a phenomenal achievement in calligraphy, the author, therefore, made the decision to have a research on his calligraphic arts. Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai was multi-dimensionally talented. He had a great academic performance in the official imperial civil examination in late Qing Dynasty. Also, he was a chairman of the Nationalist Government and the first prime minister of Executive Yuan. Besides, he was not only a calligrapher but also a gourmet. He was a proficient in calligraphy and painting. He had skills in several aspects. The first chapter of the thesis is the introduction. Next, the focuses are the backgrounds on Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai’s learning at schools which cultivated the talented calligraphers; his life, friends and trips; the origin of his calligraphy and the concepts of the schools; his calligraphic arts; and the conclusion. The first chapter is the introduction. It includes the research motivation, the purpose of the research, the research methods, and the literature review. The approaches of historical research, comparative methods, and field investigations are applied in the section of the statements. The second chapter is focused on the backgrounds on Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai’s learning at schools. It will be generally discussed in the aspects of politics, economy, education, literature and calligraphy. on the basis of the background and the period of time. The third chapter is aimed at Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai’s major life events and friendship. They are divided into several sections, such as his three aspect of family backgrounds, hometowns, lifetime events, friendship. The fourth chapter is directed at the origins and calligraphic concepts of Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai. It will be discussed in the following order: his learning from the masters, his particularization on the selection of Chinese brushes, his emphasis on the sequence of calligraphy learning, his stress on the basics of calligraphy, his full attention on the imitation of ancient rubbings from stone inscriptions and models of handwritings, his admiration for temperaments. The fifth chapter is targeted at calligraphic arts. It is made up of the characteristics of calligraphic arts, the styles of calligraphy, and the appreciation and discussion of the major works. This session examines Mr. Tan, Yan-Kai’s using the center of the Chinese brush in his calligraphy, the grace of the structures, and the artistic demonstrations of the free styles. His works are analyzed and discussed in the timeframes of the budding period, the thriving period, and the maturing period. The sixth chapter is Tan Yankai’s achievement and impact. In terms of his achievement, there are political and educational aspects of creating in calligraphy and contribution in terms of his influence. Take Tan Zekai, Zhu Jiuying, Tan Shu and teacher Tan Jinjia, and other well-known calligraphers for example. The future generations have inheritance, and he leaves a far-reaching impact on the future generations. The seventh chapter is the conclusions. In addition to the introduction of Tan Yankai in his family, life, national contributions, and the outlines of the focused chapters, there are also descriptions of the lofty evaluations of Tan Yankai all over the world. Mr. Tan Yan-Kai learned his calligraphy from Mr. Yen Jan-Chen and also developed Mr. Yen Jan-Chen’s essence. I hope to let the students learn more about Mr. Tan Yan-Kai’s great skills in calligraphy and slowly experience the beauty of calligraphy by studying “The Study on Calligraphy of a Perfect Person in R.O.C., Tan Yankai ” in the future. |
