A Study on the Correlates of Parents' Willingness to Participate Voluntary Services in Taipei Sunflower Primary School

| Popis: | 105 The main purpose of this study is to find the factors which may influence the current willingness of students’ parents to participate in the voluntary services in a primary school. The survey method with questionnaires is used. A stratified random sample was selected with the sample size of 322. The factors that may affect volunteerism in the primary schools are measured: “motivation for volunteer service”, “efficacy of campus volunteer service＂, “identity of parents’ associations”, with the main dependent variable “the willingness of campus volunteer service”. The main findings are as follows: The stronger“the motivation for volunteer service”, the higher “the willingness of campus volunteer service”. The higher“the efficacy of campus volunteer service”, the higher “the willingness of campus volunteer service”. The higher the parents's “identity of parents' associations”, the higher the impact of “efficacy of campus volunteer service” on “actual input in campus volunteer service”. Based on the results of the comprehensive study, the suggestions are put forward as bellow: 1.The service time of campus volunteer work should be flexible. 2.The recognization of “the efficacy of campus volunteer service” should be raised. 3.The openings of campus volunteer service should meet the parents’ skills and/or professions. 4.Volunteer parents' loyalty to parents' associations should be uplifted, and the motivation of their volunteer service will be enhanced as well. |
