Using SOBEK Real-Time Control Module To Develop Operational Mechanism for Hydraulic Structures in ShinDian Stream.

The ShinDian River supply water to the Greater Taipei Area, and the ShinDian River is combined with BeiShih River and NanShih River.The hydraulic structures that located in BeiShih River and NanShih River, FeiTsui Reservoir, LoHau Dam, AYu Dam, KueiShan Dam, TsuKeng Dam, ZhiTan Dam and ChinTan Dam, play the role that supply Households, ecology water and power water. Because the River would be adjusted by the hydraulic structures operation, establish the rules to control how gates of the hydraulic structure open, that according to the water level and discharge of upstream. In recent years, many flooding events occur in ShinDian River watershed. The hydraulic iv structures located in River would change the natural flow conditions, and it’s difficult to connect several hydraulic structures to operate in linear. The Real-time Control module of SOBEK can set several different operating rules in the specific hydraulic structure, and set the conditions to operate it. In this research, use the Real-time Control module to set the rule that operate the hydraulic structures in typhoon, in seven hydraulic structures, and adjust the gate parameter. Determine the module can react the real flow conditions by comparing the water level in two water level station, that named ShagGuanShan and Chutzi. The purpose of research is according this system to compare the water level in hydraulic structures and in the flooding area. In the results, first, when open the gate too slowly would make the water level in hydraulic structures growing fast and make it in danger. Second, the water level in part of flooding area show it is indeed influenced by hydraulic structure operation.
