The purpose of this study is to explore the status and effectiveness of using LINE App for parent-teacher communication. The quantitative methods and questionnaires are adopted. The study objects are 71 parents of some Kaohsiung City elementary school fifth-graders. By descriptive statistics, F-test and t-test, statistical analysis is performed. The results of this study find that the fifth-grader’ parents have used LINE App to replace the phone (voice or text), face to face communication, and Facebook, as a parent-teacher communication tool. Parents recognize and agree the effectiveness of LINE for parent-teacher communication. There is no significant difference for parents of different sexes use LINE App to communicate with teachers. Parents hope that teachers use LINE to let parents know their children''s life and learning in school. No matter good or bad thing, parents would like to know through LINE. The school''s instant messages can be posted on LINE. Based on the results of this study, the suggestions for elementary school teachers, educational administration units, and future researchers are provided respectively.
