Recently, the induction heater has been widely used and rapidly developed for industrial applications. It has a lot of advantages, including more accurate and user-friendly temperature control system, better heating performance, cleaner heating environment with higher efficiency and lower cost. In addition, it is desirable to reduce the size of reactive components within power supplies for modem computing systems. The solution to reducing high switching losses resulting from higher frequency operation, may lie in resonant power conversion. Here, we propose an implementation for induction heater with constant current using a phase-shift full-bridge series resonant. This induction heater consists of a DC voltage-fed power supply for full-bridge series resonant induction heating system. Compared with the traditional pulse width modulation induction heater, our proposed induction heater uses a phase-shift pulse width modulation technology with zero-voltage switching to reduce the switching stress and loss. A negative feedback current control system was used to achieve a high-efficient power converter to cope with loading changes of output current. Furthermore, an UCC3895 phase shift pulse width modulation control IC was used for switching signals generated from two complementary phase shift of angle α. Finally, the circuit of this project used a negative feedback control system with constant output current to regulate loading changes. The experimental results were presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed induction heater.
