Popis: | 105 This study aims to explore an elementary school homeroom teacher’s practical knowledge of career guidance. By adopting instrumental case study, the researcher observed how Teacher Joyce providing career guidance through lecturing and student-teacher interactions. Data included 10 video recording, sound recording, observing notes and 15 interviewing scripts, and were coded by Subject Analysis technique. The career guidance practical knowledge were framed under image, principles and rules. The image was “lovely kids”: consisting of two dimensions—being considerate and hard working. Under being considerate, the principles were good-mannered, being nice, group involvement, and eagerness. Under being hard working, they were responsibility, learning from mistakes, and efficiency. Compared with the Career Development Education goals set by Ministry of Education, there were two findings: 1. it was difficult to provide a systematic vocational awareness courses for elementary school students; 2. attitude of "hard working" better be included into indicators to build a good working attitude for their future. Finally, researcher offered suggestions toward career guidance for elementary school teachers and further research. |
