Content Analysis of Principal Instructional Leadership from the Database of Theses and Dissertationss in Taiwan

The purpose of this study are hopefully to understand the current situation and development of the research on principal instructional leadership by content analysis from the the master’s thesis and doctoral disseratations in Taiwan. Data were collected and analyzed from the database of National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertationss in Taiwans up to 2016 with a total of 143 thesis/disseratations.The research method adopteds in the study was content analysis. The results show that the year of publication of leadership of principal studied theses and dissertationss has published to date.However, a dissertationss is the main degree type. The relevant study theses and dissertations of the school are overly concentrated in the elementary school, northern and southern part of Taiwan. In addition to the general principals instructional leadership, there are marine education and reading education. Most research orientations of the instructional leadership of principal studied theses and dissertationss in Taiwan are quantitative research. On the other hand, the questionnaire survey is the most commonly used. The main concept of the principal instructional leadership reveal the following respectively: (a) communicating the school’s goals; (b) supervising and evaluates instruction; (c) supervising and evaluates instruction; (d) creating a supportive teaching environment; (e) encouraging teachers to develop professional. Meanwhile, relevant variables can be classified as teachers, students, principals, schools, programs and others. The variables are related to the study theses and dissertationss in Taiwan including the causes, consequences, mediating and moderating. Last, this study concludes with recommendations for future research in the field of relevant educational administrations, principals, and teachers.
