The Study on Females' Preference for the Country Style

| Popis: | 105 The purpose of the present study was to investigate why female country-style enthusiasts developed a passion for this particular style. By utilizing in-depth interviews, we explored whether those enthusiasts of the country style were influenced by certain explicit and implicit factors. The findings of this study may provide a valuable reference for future research on the association between females and the country style. The research conclusions are as follows: (A) The factors of loving the country style: Most female country-style enthusiasts came into contact with various decorating styles as they began to decorate their houses. The country style brought them warmth and comfortable sensation. When the country style was finally chosen as the main theme of their home décor, they decorated their houses by various means-DIY, purchase, and interior designers. Different factors, such as money, space, and perception were taken into consideration and the decorations were accordingly constrained. Furthermore, enthusiasts slightly altered their decorations as time elapsed and their mood changed. (B) The understanding of the types of the country style: When those enthusiasts decided to decorate their home environment by applying the country style, they first tried to learn the distinctive characteristics of the country styles of different areas and then they brought what they favored into their houses. Therefore, the country style manifested in their home was not necessarily the same; alternatively, it might mix different types and the Japanese type was popular. Moreover, the types they preferred varied depending on their ages, so they would generate ideas to change their home décor. (C) The application of the country style: The country-style décor might vary according to home spaces or operational functions. It could be a fixed or movable decoration. Also, the proportions of the country style displayed in their houses could be different. In addition to the home environment, enthusiasts’ preference for the country style was demonstrated on personal bags and clothing. (D) The influence of the country style: Since the country style was not an extreme one, most family members of those enthusiasts would not repel this style; some family members even grew interests in it. Also, because of its link to Nature, the home diet of those enthusiasts tends to light. The time and money that those enthusiasts devoted to the country style,they spent much time and few money on DIY, but the situation was opposite by buying ready made article. |
