Based on the theory of game therapy and family play therapy, this research aims to design a parent-child relationship promotion program, and through the actual implementation of the program to explore the effectiveness of the program and family relationship experience in the process. The study subjects were families with parents and early adolescence members of Hsinchu City or County, Taiwan and two groups of families were selected. From the description of family members in the program experience, results found to be able to roughly match the family play therapy process, members of the state and intervention, but there are still some differences between the results and Western literature. The results of the program benefit showed that the overall percentage of the parental stress of the two groups decreased, while the parent-child relationship scale showed that adolescent had reduced their anger, tense and helplessness after the program was implemented. The results of qualitative data are found in six categories in the process experience, and life experience is divided into four categories. Research conclusions support that program benefits improve parent-child relationships, achieve program design goals and meet the treatment elements of game therapy. At the same time, the perceptions and feedback from parents and adolescents are different, and the difference in expectations and readiness of each family affects the perception of effectiveness. It is recommended that when assessing the mode and effectiveness of the intervention, these conclusions might be taken into account. Finally, the board game as the facilitating material in the program has achieved the effect of family play therapy, and its features can function in the program, indicating that the board game can be used effectively in the family play therapy.
