Popis: | 105 The paper looks at the question of which factors affect the public attitudes toward immigrants. I compare labor market competition model with public sources competition model and examine how their various hypothesis regarding class structure, government expenditure influence the public attitudes toward immigrants. Using a sampled datasets from the International Social Survey Program conducted in 2003 and 2013, I found (a) class structure is a key factor affected attitudes toward immigrants, and unskilled labor is less accepting of immigrants than the other social class; (b) public expenditure has decreased anti-immigrants sentiment; (c) the effect of public spending on capitalist and the unskilled worker is weaker than other classes. In sum, according to the analysis, the empirical results partly support the labor market competition model, but most statistic outcomes support the perspective of public sources competition model. |
