A Multilevel Examination on Servant Leadership and Service Performance: The Mediating Role of Service Orientation and Service Rule Commitment

Popis: | 105 The purpose of this study was to explore whether the employee service orientation and service rule commitment mediate the relationship between servant leadership(SL) and follower’s service performance. This study surveyed 44 nurse teams that were comprised 193 staff nurses and their 44 supervisors from 16 hospitals in Taiwan via two-wave data collection, that is, follower’s service performance was measured through one-month lag. The result of hierarchical linear modeling(HLM) showed that SL was positively related to employee service performance. At team-level, we also discovered that the relationship between team-level SL and employee service performance was fully mediated by service orientation. Theoretical implications, practical implications, and directions for future research were also discussed. |
