Popis: | 105 For cars, headlights are like the eyes of a human being. When you driving at night or in the dark. If there's no headlight of car, you will be completely blind in the road. Thus the design and fabrication process of automotive headlights are crucial, especially the development of headlight lens. The main function of automotive headlights is to condense LED light and project it onto the road. In order to optimize the effects of even brightness and high penetration, headlights are able to generate appropriate light waves of projection according to different conditions of the road. Currently, traditional automotive headlights mainly use thick convex lens which are made of glass material. However, with the aims of lightweight products, energy conservation and cost reduction, the plastic headlight lens have been gradually replacing traditional glass lens in the field of car application. However, fabrication of the thick convex lens by injection molding process still has many problems, such as excessive expansion, contraction defect and dimensional inaccuracy of the ended product. These problems will further lead to deviation of light-wave position of headlight lens. Therefore, a multi-cavity mold of headlight lens was designed and developed in this study. In order to verify the feasibility of the mold, the CAE simulation and plastic injection molding experiments were carried out. In addition, the effects of processing conditions on the shape and quality of fabricated plastic lens were investigated. Finally, geometrical and optical properties of the fabricated plastic lens were measured and proved satisfactory. |
