In this study, Polyimide and Cellulose Acetate were used to prepare oil/water separation composite membrane on polyester woven fabric. The multi-layer filter was used to separate oil-water mixture. To investigate the difference of clarity and the effect of oil-water separation after coating multi-layer post-filtrate. The polyester woven fabric is used as the support layer, and the woven fabric is coated with a layer of polyamide or cellulose acetate respectively. After the drying, a second coating is applied, and after coating to the third layer, Simple filtration device to filter whether to achieve the effect of oil-water separation. The woven fabric and the coated woven fabric were tested as follows: the surface of the polyester fiber woven fabric was observed from the SEM, and the thermal cracking temperature of the coated woven fabric was evaluated by TGA test, the surface wettabilities of the prepared oil/water separation composite membrane were evaluated through contact-angle measurements. Polyamide fiber and cellulose acetate were prepared into 5 wt% solution respectively. After the solution was coated on the polyester woven fabric, the coated polyester fiber woven fabric was used as a simple gravity filtering device funnel. This study used three kinds of oil, including sesame oil, silicone oil, and motor oil respectively, the mixture of oil and water was mixed in a ratio of 1: 1. The oil-water mixture was poured into a simple filter funnel using gravity filtration, after separation, the effect of the separation of the applied layer and the multilayer was examined as a record. to explore one layer and multi-layer separation under the effect of separation. Although the separation efficiency was faster when the one-layer coating was applied, the separated solution still had some oil mixed with it. The separation rate is relatively slow with the three-layer coating was applied, but in the solution more clarify than one-layer coating. But in the filtration of water, because the water molecules is relatively small, in the filtration time will be less cost, and in the oil filter, because oil molecules larger, more difficult through the pores in the filtration time, time-consuming will be more. Filtration time for the silicone oil> motor oil> sesame oil.
