Taiwan was once an agrarian society but with advances in technology it has transitioned to industrial economy. Taiwan keeps moving forward with the global economical trends to a society of technological prowess and has seen a strong and steady economical growth throughout the 20th century. This has brought rapid changes to people's lifestyles and leisure activities. In fact, traveling is no longer a simple holiday getaway, but with purpose. People aren't just looking to getaway from their hectic life. They want and are willing to spend more on their health and wellbeing. Therefore, to meet the multiple needs of the modern consumer, health, preventive medicine, or medical care have been incorporated with traveling. We adapt the same principle and business model from hot spring resorts in Germany to incorporate medical therapy, providing corresponding treatments and enhancing our hot spring experience into preventive medicine, even healing purposes. The introduction of hydrotherapy adopts the theories of physical therapy and hot/cold springs to soothe meridian system and to release accumulated pressure from daily lives. The combination of these therapies shows significant improvement. My research emphasizes the procedure of hydrotherapy, combined with hot and cold spring. Introduction videos are taken and placed on the official website and mobile app of Springhill Hotel in Kaohsiung. We incorporate Kneipp Cure and carbonic spring, which Springhill Hotel features, to assist Springhill Hotel to offer a series of training programs and promoting events. The videos include the instructions of hot/cold spring therapy and certain therapies in private spa. With the advance of digital-learning interface, internal training programs are followed by an assessment based on Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluation. The purpose of the research is to introduce hydrotherapy on hot/cold spring sites, to excel the efficacy of training program, and to promote service satisfaction. The promotion of hot/cold spring is no doubt a common goal for hotelier fellows. There is still room for improvement for the videos based on Kneipp Cure. We suggest more advanced facilities, more customized treatment, and personal medical tracks on mobile apps or cloud drives in order to keep track on relevant data for further studies, and eventually to improve preventive and medical care service in Taiwan.
