Living influenced by two completely different cultures has created in me a chaos of not knowing to which one a belong to. Being an Asian mother, she strictly wanted me to preserve our customs, culture and language, product of this I flew back and forward between this two cultures, having problems to find who I really am. It also created a resentment towards my mother for giving me wings but not letting me fly. Thru the story telling I realized some of my problems are just because I get lost in the path of life, ignoring my feelings. Going thru a process of escaping, blaming, recognizing, I comprehended that finding myself is the only way that I can continue either in my relationship with my mother or in my marriage. In this process, I also started to perceive my mother as a Taiwanese women and the meaning that this represents. After watching myself writing my story, discovering that the two cultures can coexist in me, the diversity that exists in me guided me to find my unique identity.
