A Study of Friendly Environment to the aged- Take the Yunlin Veterans Nursing homes as an Example

This paper mainly analyzes the possibility of the future development to the new building in Yunlin Veterans Nursing homes. This paper adopts four kinds of research methods: literature analysis、, data collection 、 questionnaire survey and data statistical. By visiting 、 investigation of the site, and interview questionnaire to the Yunlin Veterans Nursing homes to understand the existing situation and the face of problems. Therefore, we can explore the existing feelings、 prosperity and ideas, as well as suggestions of the Veterans. There are 22 buildings in the existing environment of Yunlin Veterans Nursing homes. The main maintenance space including Jing Guo building、Huan Xi building、Man Fu building, setting up other space such as administrative space、restaurant、guard room、rehabilitation center、 kitchen, etc. The under construction building take a cluster of conservation units as the initial concept of design. There are sidewalk and lane around the building, as well as the religion and meeting space. According to the survey and statistical analysis of the questionnaire, we can see that the living environment satisfaction of existing residents in Yunlin Veterans Nursing homes is 56.6%、36.6% for the saloon, and the most common activities in the saloon is watching TV, possession of 40.0%. In addition, the least activities in the saloon is movement, only 6.7%. On the equipment part, there are more than 90% respondents thought the height of the handrail is too high, furthermore, the respondents who use wheelchair have over 95% thought the height of handrail is too high. In the use of restaurant space frequency difference analysis, all users are seldom or unusual to the restaurant, more than half respondents who use crutches seldom go to the restaurant. The above in order to explore the use of conservation areas and user experience.
