Effects of Digital Technology Use on Parent-child Relationships for Elementary School Students

With the popularity of digital technology, more and more elementary school children use smart phones and Table Personal Computers (Tablet PCs). This study focuses on the impact of the use of digital technology products (smart phones or Tablet PCs) on parent-child relationship of elementary school children of senior grades of Xinyi Township in Nantou County via the revised MUTAUT model. A total of 298 questionnaires were distributed in this study. 289 valid questionnaires were collected and sampled by SPSS 20.0 for windows. The results showed that children's perception toward the use of digital technology products positively affected performance expectations and effort expectancy. Effort expectancy and social influence had positive impact on the network. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence had positive correlation with Internet stickiness, and also affected positive impact on parent-child relationship. Internet immersion had positive impact on parent-child relationship and stickiness, and facilitating conditions positively affected parent-child relationship. And the interference variable voluntarily had impact on the community and grader on effort expectancy, but the rests were not affected by the disturbance of gender and graders.
