The purpose of the study was to explore the students’ learning achievement and satisfaction with E-book applied in mathematics of the second grade in a primary school. The author applied nonequivalent pretest-posttest design of quasi-experimental research. Students from four second-grade classes of a primary school were selected for the study. They were divided into the experimental and control groups, with 50 students in the experimental group and 54 students in the control group, respectively. The experimental group received the E-book teaching and learning, whereas the control group received conventional narrative teaching. This was a six-week study, with three units in mathematics being taught. Before and after the experiment, all students took Mathematics Achievement Packet Test as well as Learning Satisfactions Assessment. The study was analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-sample t-test, covariance variables, and Pearson’s relative differential analysis to understand the differences in learning achievement and satisfaction between the experimental group and the control group after the instruction. The results were as follows: First, there was no significant difference between the influence of the E-book teaching and conventional narrative teaching on the students’ learning achievements. Further analysis of students with different academic achievements also showed no significant differences on the learning achievement. Second, the E-book teaching experimental group exhibited higher satisfaction than that of the control group with the conventional narrative teaching. Third, there was no significant correlation between the learning satisfaction and learning achievement within the experimental groups. Finally, the researcher made conclusions and suggestions based on the results.
