[dema][Tfo] ionic liquid electrolyte is used as non-aqueous solution with various water concentrations to study the surface oxides and surface adsorbed water effect in the mechanism of carbon monoxide (CO) electrochemical oxidation. The electrochemical oxidation of CO on gold (Au) electrode was studied by using microelectrode (MDE) and rotating disk electrode (RDE) to study limiting current of solution phase CO electrochemical oxidation. In order to study the surface oxides effect in the mechanism of electrochemical oxidation of CO, additional Pt oxides (PtOx) were coated in gold electrode to further study the comparison of water effects in ionic liquid and non-aqueous effect electrolyte.
