With changes in family structure, the number of career women has increased, leading to the promotion and demand for childcare service. The " Women's Marriage, Fertility and Employment Survey" conducted by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics found an increase in the use of childcare providers and high attention and priority being given to the quality of the care provided. Childcare providers generally serve children under six years old, and they play the important role of not only guardian in the first line of preventing Enterovirus but also of consultant to parents. The purpose of this study is to apply the Health Belief Model to childcare providers in order to investigate Enterovirus prevention behaviors and related factors. The number of subjects was 329 childcare providers attending the Yunlin County Community Child Attendant Care system. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data; the study showed a good return response of 308 valid questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, the independent sample T test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used for statistical analysis of the data. The results showed that: 1. Family childcare providers who are young (20-40 years old), university-educated, and part of the Douliu Community Childcare system have relatively good knowledge regarding beliefs and behaviors that prevent Enterovirus. 2. There was a significant difference between learning “cues for action” regarding Enterovirus prevention from propaganda leaflets, medical, and training courses, and from friends, television, broadcasting channels for both “Knowledge of Enterovirus” and “Enterovirus prevention behavior”. 3. “Knowledge of Enterovirus”, “health beliefs”, and “self-efficacy” were associated with “Enterovirus prevention behaviors” and presented a significantly positive correlation. 4. “ Knowledge of Enterovirus” and “self-efficacy” effectively predicted Enterovirus prevention behaviors, with "self-efficacy" showing a higher predictive ability. This study suggests that relevant government agencies and the community childcare system can organize workshops regarding Enterovirus prevention before the start of the "Enterovirus season". The study also suggests strengthening education advocacy for older and less educated childcare providers. In the future, more case studies, experience-sharing platforms and practical workshops should be promoted so as to provide childcare providers with more knowledge and prevention skills regarding Enterovirus prevention.
