Vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium(VLLE)data are very limited in literature for the aqueous systems containing C4 or higher alcohols, especially at temperatures well above ambient. A static-type apparatus equipped with a visual cell was utilized in the present study to measure isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for 2-butanol + water binary system at 323.16 K,333.14 K,353.14 K, and 373.16 K. The VLLE data were also measured for 2-butanol + water, isobutanol + water, and tert-amyl alcohol + water binary systems in a temperature range of 323.16 K to 373.16 K. The experimental VLE and/or LLE data of the binary systems were correlated with the NRTL-HOC and the UNIQUAC-HOC models, and the optimal values of the binary interaction parameters were also determined simultaneously. With the determined parameters, the models can reasonably predict the vapor composition and VLL three-phase coexistence pressure.
