Popis: | 104 When the magnetic saturation of a transformer occurs, it makes exciting inrush current higher than the rated current several times in the primary side of the input. The exciting inrush current may reduce the efficiency of a power supply, easily damage the switching power transistors, shorten the life of a transformer, and cause malfunction of a circuit. It is to be noted for designing and testing of a power supply. This study tests two power supplies with different output wattages, which contain the same type transformer of Flyback converter in auxiliary power loop. By integrating automated test systems and graphics software programs, this study establishes a complete set of magnetic saturation test functions and draws a hysteresis curve, in order to obtain working flux density (Bw), working magnetic field strength (Hw) data and determine whether the magnetic component saturates or not. Meanwhile the residual magnetism (Br) can be also calculated, and a test report is generated automatically. In addition, some engineers with different test proficiency are arranged to test magnetic saturation items to compare time difference between automatic mode and manual mode, and difference of the efficiency of the transformer at each test condition and each test item. The experimental results show that this research method can reduce at least 50% of the magnetic saturation test time. The created Hysteresis curve can provide clear reference for analysis and judgement of component saturation status, so that engineers can find a suitable transformer for a power supply design. In this study, an automated test system is built for the test processes. In addition to the electrical characteristics test, the magnetic saturation test is also incorporated. The goal is to improve the test efficiency of the magnetic saturation of a power supply, to shorten the time of development and test process of products, and to improve competitiveness of products. |
