The British writer of children’s literature A. A. Milne (1882-1956) accomplished two classic books for children after observing the scenes of his son playing with his dolls, i.e., Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. Milne personates the kid’s toys in a genial and humorous tone and designs a brand new role in a warm world in the woods. Later, the Disney Company has created a new fairy tale character based on the two classic works – Winnie the Pooh, a famous cartoon figure who impressed people with its cute appearance and honest personality, which reflects the originality of Milne’s literature creation. Apart from the plot description in the texts, it also contains a lot of nonsense verses. This paper attempts to explore the nonsense verses in the texts and the other two collections of poems written by Milne. Milne’s nonsense verse is fresh in style and close to our daily life in themes; he can bring the commonest trifles into a surprising ending through his words full of imagination. Through reading his poems, we can experience Milne’s humorous sense in the concise and plain words. We expect that we can make more children readers comprehend the joy of nonsense literature in Milne’s works.
