In order to improve the impact of offshore wind farm on marine and aircraft radar systems, the modification of the shape of objects and the coating on the bodies are implemented. The main purpose of this thesis is to calculate the RCS of coated blades of wind turbine effectively. The implementation of physical optics (PO) is based on a bi-quadratic patch description of the blades of wind turbine. The method uses PO approximation to obtain the far field, which can evaluate the radar cross section (RCS). The PO approximation provides the induced electric and magnetic surface currents on the body of blades coated by RAMs, which can be approximated by the surface impedance model. This approach is very efficient to calculate RCS for electrically large wind turbine blades with irregular curvilinear surface, which greatly reduces computing time and memory requirement. The efficient method enables us to simulate three blades of wind turbine, and the result indicates that coated blades of wind turbine can efficiently reduce the RCS than the original blades. It reduces the interference of offshore wind turbine on radar. Keywords:offshore wind turbine, coated body, radar cross section, bi-quadratic patch, physical optics.
