A Research of Developing Electronic Patrol System for Restaurant Inspection

| Popis: | 104 In recent years, people pay attention to food hygiene quality. Restaurant is the last stop for our food before consuming. Hence, the hygiene management of the kitchen becomes an important part of food safety. The traditional approach for hygiene management consists of periodic inspection by inspector, taking photos and notes for some or most violations, followed by inserting image and text into a document file, and finally the output of the inspection report. However, this approach cannot be determined when the inspector is around the place. The reporting job is also quite time-consuming, cannot effectively present the performance of inspection. There is a combination of RFID reader and tag recorded the current time and location on the practice. Vendors sell different specifications of mobile devices according to the price. Basic specifications exclude text editing and camera features, for users, carrying a pen and paper or additional equipment are not very convenient. This study develops an application with the use of NFC technology on Android smartphone. To apply to restaurant inspection for the enhancement of hygiene management and inspection performance. The system includes "mobile client application", "desktop client application" and "database server". Mobile client login the application and open the corresponding form with an NFC tag. To take photos and notes for some or most violations, then instantly upload inspection records through 3G or Wi-Fi network to the database server. Desktop client develop in VB.NET, querying the records for the users to do more detailed text editing, and output the inspection result into PDF reports. Server-side include databases and web services, providing mobile clients access to the database and read PDF reports. This system can achieve the following goals: 1. Uploading inspection data in real time, supervise activities of the inspectors for the supervisor; 2. Using electronic forms and producing PDF report automatically, reduce the operating cost and the paperwork; 3. Taking photos and notes as well as viewing history, improves the operation process for the inspectors. |
