Popis: | 104 The study was designed to investigate the impact on reading comprehension ability of immersion of concept mapping into language teaching of fourth-graders. For this purpose, the action research was conducted and the duration of the teaching was eight weeks including sixteen classes. Before and after teaching, tests with "Chinese Reading Comprehension Test" were adopted, and the data were analyzed with t-test and ANOVA to understand the effects. In addition, the running records of teaching activities, students’works and reflection notes were also gathered by the researcher for qualitative analysis. The results of the study were as follows: 1.The curriculum of immersion of concept mapping into language teaching contributed significantly to the improvement of the reading comprehension ability among the fourth-graders, with the middle achievement group improved most. 2.After implementing immersion of concept mapping into language teaching, the fourth-graders’reading comprehension sub-abilities had improved. 3.The pupils had progress in reading comprehension ability in narrative text by implementing immersion of concept mapping into language teaching, especially the high and middle achievement group improved most. 4.The curriculum of immersion of concept mapping into language teaching had not contributed significantly to the improvement of the reading comprehension ability in expository text among the fourth-graders. 5.The pupils had progress in reading comprehension ability by drawing concept mapping by team work with teachers and classmates after the curriculum of immersion of concept mapping into language teaching. |
