The Biomimicry Design of Cultural and Creative Product by Using Mato-Peiyu Fruit Timber

In this study, the agriculture submaterials will take Mato-Peiyu branches from the fruit trees as raw material, and the form of Mato-Peiyu plants, as well as the wood image and characteristics, with the elements of creative pattern, by using biomimicry approach to design functionality product, also about the cultural background of “Mato” name, then the metaphor technique of cultural and creative product, the design about cultural and creative product of comb mirror utensil, after that reference for cultural and creative product development of agriculture in submaterials, and created additional value of recycle submaterials in agriculture. After being analysis and investigated, then the main conclusion are: 1.The texture of Mato-Peiyu timber is soft and brittle which easy to break, the timber are uneven and disarray, need additional work and vulnerable to saw into small size like need to control the cutting speed as it will affect the quality, less suitable for architecture material, but its indeed a fine texture material, gray and light color material are very light, as long as its fresh, it will have vigorous and vivid on psychological image, which suitable for sculpture, utensils, jewelry, toys and crafts. 2.The cultural and creative product design of a set of comb mirror, could be associated as “eye” in Mato when it look from cultural background, a functional design come from located pomelo(Peiyu) fruit tree which use bionic technique, after that could be count as culture recognition also promote the culture education at the same time, then could drive the cultural and creative industries too. 3.The applied of Mato-Peiyu timber in cultural and creative products of the real practice, could give reference agricultural for handle recycling, then create additional value of reduce the waste materials, and having a concept of sustainable and environmentally friendly product design.
