Popis: | 104 In recent years, Taiwan Government has invested a lot of manpower and funding for research in ancient architectures to preserve these old and important parts of the complete construction. The aim is to continue the historic life and footprints of our ancestors step by step. This has not only the meaning to promote cultural, historical education and cultural atmosphere, but even shows how much a country has valued and preserved the historical continuity and national heritage. A lot of the ancient building's art decorations in Taiwan were designed by the East to express fine and art, auspicious blessings through building structures. This timeless design is an extension of history and memory which conveys the life style of peace, joy, and happiness. During the period of Japanese occupation, the style of ancient buildings decoration art design in Taiwan conveys the images of colonial culture, and also symbolizes the Japanese power and historical heritage. Since European architecture techniques and styles of design have strongly and deeply influenced those of people in Asia, architects in Taiwan then learn to use the western expression of space and techniques of materials. Although the ways of construction and choices of colors are quite different from those of Taiwanese traditional buildings, they can actively show a sense of beauty and value by the existence of decoration art. My study will be focused on the decoration art design in Kaohsiung City during the period of Japanese occupation. I shall investigate and collect the relative objects of ancient buildings decoration arts by Field study and Literature Review. Then do the research and analyze the expression of art regarding to space location, decorative materials, decorative techniques, and themes. From the views of history and culture. I shall discuss the change and implication of decoration art design. Hopefully, my research may also convey the meaning of art deco at that era, and show how deep impact of these art deco have and reveal their true meanings. The results of my study show that the decoration art design during Japanese-Occupied Period is neat and bright. Doors and windows are either in the shape of round or square, so as to express the beauty of geometry. The art design is not only for the sake of decoration, but will always meet the need of the construction. Furthermore, The decoration art by using the mixture of single material and technique creates an unique Japanese-style art design during Japanese-Occupied Period. By the interaction of eastern and western cultures, decoration art design conveys the specialty of mutual influences in history and culture. |
