A Study on Key Factors of Attracting Investment in Kaohsiung Nanxing FTZ

| Popis: | 104 The Port of Kaohsiung is the benchmarking Free Trade Zone among Taiwan’s Ports. To further expand the hinterland and strengthen its manufacturing function in the Zone, the Taiwan International Ports Corporation had applied to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to include Nanxing Project Zone in its Free Trade Zone area in Kaohsiung Port in 2013. The key difference between Nanxing and the Port’s other FTZ sectors is manufacturing industries are allowed to operate business in Nanxing. Aside from that, it is also worth further studying the key factors of attracting business to invest in the Nanxing FTZ. The thesis set up 3 Dimensions and 6 Evaluation Criteria through literature review. Accordingly an expert questionnaire using Analytic Hierarchy Process was carried out and suggested the following: The most critical Dimensions to attract business to invenst in Nanxing FTZ are sequentially “Business Operations”, “Governmental Regulations” and “Operational Environment”. In terms of Evaluation Criteria, the most important are sequentially “Potential Operational Cost Reduction”, “Access Transportation System”, “Fewer Limitation on the Circulation of Goods”, “Simplify Operating Procedures”, “Loosen the Restriction on Business Types”, and “Expand the Scope of Land Use”. The thesis also seeks to find the balance among tax revenue, business’ operation costs and the competitiveness of this country by studying the key factors of attracting business in the Nanxing FTZ. |
