The Study of Elementary School Teachers' and Students' Beavior of Using Mobile Instant Message by TAM

This study aims to examine the usage of instant messaging software by elementary school teachers and senior students, and to investigate the differences under various background by technology acceptance model. Total 400 questionnaires were issued, 200 for school teachers and 200 for senior students. 158 and 186 questionnaires were recovered. Descriptive statistics, Independent-Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA and the Structural Equation Model were applied to data analysis. The major findings are: (1) There is high percentage of usage of IM by elementary school teachers and senior students. The senior students use more than the teachers. (2) The perceived ease of use doesn’t have a positive effect on the behavioral intention to use for the teachers, while the perceived usefulness has an indirect positive effect on the behavioral intention to use. (3) The background variables that influence the usage of IM for the teachers are different from those for the senior students.
