This paper investigates how management team ability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) impact on corporate performance. This paper use U.S. Company’s data form 1992 to 2013. The CSP is based on the different corporate stakeholders (including community, diversity, employee relations, environment, human rights, and product) to measure CSR activities. We have four conclusions. First, the managers who with higher management ability and invest CSR can improve corporate operating performance. Second, we find CEOs with higher general managerial skills may lead higher CSR, improve corporate operating performance. Third, the managers who with higher management ability and invest positive CSR and negative CSR can reduce ROA, COGS and COST. Final, CEOs who have profuse general managerial ability skills may lead to higher CSR, improve corporate operating performance.
