Popis: | 104 Since direct elections for President in 1996, Taiwan has experienced three times of Party Alternation. Although Political Donations Act was passed by Legislature before the Presidential election in 2004, there are still many rumors and scandals about politicians privately accepting political donation. This study focuses on over-the-counter (OTC) companies which are signed up for Information Disclosure and Transparency Ranking System by investigating the relation between campaign finance, corporate governance and internal control weaknesses based on data collected from the sunshine acts of the Control Yuan and Taiwan Economic Journal Database from 2011 to 2014. The purpose of this study is to discuss how political donations affect the rate of sanction for enterprises internal control. The empirical results show that the frequency of political donations will influence the rate of sanction for the internal control, mostly depending on that the donation goes to the ruling party or the opposite party. For those enterprises which donate money to the political opponent have greater chance to get punished by ruling party and unable to produce the umbrella effect. |
